Computer Forensics Certification

Computer forensics training can consist of MSc - Masters Degree, BSc - Bachelors Degree, and then onto individual training courses. These training courses include the individual training courses for individual pieces of hard ware, individual pieces of software, various hard ware and software suites, and court room training. Some courses can take up to 3 years of study; some of the 3 year courses in computer forensics also include a year working in industry gaining experience.
Computer forensics analysts are often asked in court what their experience and qualifications are.  This is often asked by the opposite council as part of an attempt to discredit the expert witness.
The best certifications are a combination of both academic and vocational. A Degree in computer forensics, (or even better, a Masters in Computer Forensics), with completed training in Guidance Software’s Encase,  Access Data’s FTK,  System Automations .XRY mean that as a computer forensics expert that you can not only converse confidently about the ‘tools of the trade’, but also have an understanding of exactly how they work.
