I am thinking of setting up a National Computer Forensics Analyst database.
My reasons are as follows:
Last year I was approached by a major international bank requesting information on analysts based around the country. I stated that we only have one office, he then went on to explain:
'we are based in London, and its too expensive to have one of his staff fly to Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh etc to image a customers hard drive if there has been an incident'
I suggested a National Database, he said it would be something he would subscribe too.
Let me know your thoughts on this, let me know if you are interested and are willing to help?
Regards,
Simon

I am currently working with a kind chap to get a map of Europe set up for the European Computer Forensics Analysts and there will be another map set up for the United States. The European one will be hosted here on this site, the US will be hosted seperately.
More to come later.

Initially, it was for the UK, however, we get asked more and more frequently about Europe, so we will start in the UK, then consider Europe and potentially the rest of the world?
What do you think?

I think this is an excellent idea as I forensic investigator based just out side of Newcastle Tyne and Wear the idea of a data base would not only allow individuals to find experts from all over the country but would also allow for better collaboration between investigators.
