Hello and thanks for reading my thread on this blog. I am currently looking for a 12 month industrial placement within the Computer Forensics industry and thought I might aswell post some information about me up here in the off chance an employer might notice me.

My CV and files relating to module descriptors and general course information is avaliable from this link : http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=c5a846d735a2a89dab1eab3e9fa335ca81ee7e86 514a024e

The below is a bit about me and the course :

I am currently in my Second Year at Northumbria University studying for a BSc (Hons) in Computer Forensics, which involves a placement year in the third year. At the end of my first year I achieved a year average of 73% and the marks for each module within the course are listed in my CV for your information.

The Computer Forensics course that I am currently studying on involves work in programming, databases, computer forensics principles, computer forensics applications, operating systems, web design, networks and professional issues. If you require more information about the modules within the course can be found by following this link http://nuweb.northumbria.ac.uk/live/webserv/modules.php?code=UUSCFO1. (http://nuweb.northumbria.ac.uk/live/webserv/modules.php?code=UUSCFO1.)(please note that the module entitled “Introduction to Computer Crime Investigation” replaced the module “Computer Forensics, Criminology and Criminal justice” this year however, both modules are similar)

Outside my academic study, I work as a School Representative for the Students Union; in this role I represent thousands of students within the Computing, Engineering and Information Sciences school on a range of issues including academic feedback, timetabling and other academic and welfare issues. My interests include music, personal development and socialising.

I believe that I can bring the following to a placement role:
• Enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to learn
• A knowledge of computer architecture and software
• Knowledge of Computer Forensics Applications and procedures
• Good foundation in the use of Java
• Knowledge of both Windows and Linux
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team or on my own

Good Post!

CF@UNN, this is exactly what I was hoping would happen here. you have given potential employers a good chance to find out a little about you and to get your name out in the industry.

Good luck.

Simon
